Last night (March 18th), European Space Agency astronaut Tim Peake visited my local town to talk about his journey to space. I have been so excited about this since we booked onto it, and it did not disappoint at all. He told the story of his life from a young age, to where he is now, including an in depth talk about his time preparing to go to space, on the space station and the feelings and emotions undergone by the astronauts. As well as this, we received insight and exclusive footage into the operations, like the video inside the Soyuz capsule, which were incredibly interesting. It was a fascinating insight into what it’s really like to be an astronaut; from training to launch and spacewalk to re-entry. I really enjoyed this experience and if you ever get the opportunity to see something like this, I recommend you take it!
